Dreams are a cool pathway to our subconscious. The parts of our brains that aren’t pinned down by logical constraints and the limitations of language. They can feel like little messages from the Universe (higher self, guides and so on).
So when I have a recurring dream, I pay attention. I’ve recently been having a recurring dream where I’m late for my maths exam. I haven’t studied, haven’t even attended a class and don’t know where the exam room is. Now when it comes to decoding dreams, I do not reach for a dream dictionary. No no no. Why? Because my brain, like your brain, is unique. What one dream symbol represents for one person may mean something completely different to another. As a Wayfinder coach, I use Martha Beck’s nifty way of decoding my dreams. It totally allows for our unique quirks and meanings to come to the surface. So what was the significance of maths to me? Well in this dream maths was representing ‘the language of the Universe’. And the lack of readiness for the exams was reminding me I haven’t been doing the basics to stay in communication with the Universe (Like regular meditation, journaling, clearing up unhelpful thoughts, sleeping well etc etc etc). This may land flat for you because it wasn't your symbol, but it had the ring of truth to me. So dreams can sometimes hold powerful messages for us if we take the time to decode them. This one was a little kick in the butt which has spurred me on to action much more effectively than just rational reasoning and planning (because I already knew I should do these things right). I hope you have wonderful dreams tonight (and let me know if you want help decoding them)!
